Got out on the bike for the first time since October!

Still some snow around but none on the roads. There were some patches of sand left over from the salt trucks but I was prepared for that. The other good news is we had some decent rain already so the actual salt should all be gone now.

What I wasn't ready for were the dips and humps caused by the frost heaving the pavement. Kinda like a Motocross bike on the whoops. The first one of those I hit woke me up.

It was a little chilly (7°C, 45°F) but the sun was shining and the sky was blue so it had to be done. The bike is parked just long enough (plenty long enough this winter) for the same thing to happen every spring... I jump on, let out the clutch, and am instantly reminded just how much ****ing power the thing has!

That never gets old.

I feel really bad now! Unusually I haven't had any snow so far, so been riding all through winter. A bit cool at times & lots of rain but that doesn't stop us. We normally get about 3-4 weeks of ice but this year nothing, probably get punished in June, you guys seem to get very long periods of it, I feel for you.

The big thing I noticed when I moved to Canada is that when summer eventually arrives it is nearly always a real summer and is hot for months and worth the wait.

Ugh how frustrating... my driveway is still all ice and slush and mud, I can't get out at all!

I feel your pain. Hit 57 today, snow melting nicely but I am half a mile down a gravel (muddy) road. Be a week or two b4 that dries up and is hopefully graded.

My long driveway is almost as bad with some ice still on it.
