.020 Over
The Wife and I just returned from a 1300 mile trip on our 2010 Rocket touring. The trip originating in Northern Arizona. We Trailered the Rocket to Barstow ca. to avoid 7 hours of desert riding. Our trip took us from Barstow through Fresno Ca, San Fran, Monterey (hwy 1 all the way to Solvang Ca) then Palm Springs, returning to Phoenix AZ. But not before making an unscheduled stop in Simi Valley Ca at Simi Valley Cycles. Along the way my rear tire just ran out of tread at 6200 miles. Chris in Service hunted down a Dunlop from the local Yamaha dealer, as he said he wouldn’t let us leave his parking lot without replacing the tired unsafe old Metzler. I pointed out a few other issues we encountered along the way to Greg the tech on duty. Both fog lamps went out in Monterey ca two day earlier, my fuel gage witch never worked right was now refusing to work at all, and a slight tapping in the engine was now prevalent, Greg said the tapping sounded like an exhaust leak from the #1 of #2 port. Greg looked at all the issues I pointed out, and told me the bulbs where indeed blown, but could have been caused by a spike in voltage. The rest of the issues were warranty covered and part intensive and we were on a schedule. So…we are now back at home in Northern AZ… but the Rocket is in Scottsdale at out dealer getting sorted out…Have to say the trip was spectacular!
