Went to a couple of stores in town and could not find the mobil hp222 grease, or moly 60, bought some valvoline synpower full synthetic says its moly fortified. Is this ok for the rear drive splines and gears? Or should i look a bit harder?

You can get the Honda moly 60 on Eatmebay.

I once had a girlfriend ask me "if this grease is good enough" I assured her it was..........

At the rate we wear out back tyres it should be fine... wont be in there long and so long as it has a high heat rating over 120 +degs.. you dont want it dribbling on the back tyre..

Thanks Dennsell, I'll regrease it at least once a year, i usually ride 6-7 thousand miles a year. Next time i'll have the moly 60 off eatmebay as Rocket Scientist suggested.:D

Yea just be careful you DO change it once a year. But next time I would use Honda M/C "Moly 60" or the other expensive high Moly content stuff one of the posters mentioned on the drive shaft spline thread. Any grease with a high Moly content is a ***** to work with, as the Moly is black, gets in the cracks of your hands and hard to get completely off any other item it comes in contact with. But it works on high heat stressed components. Like our drive shaft splines and such.
