Has anyone here owned a Rocket 3 classic and the touring model?

Someone I know lost their job and they have a classic- 08' with less than 5k miles on it. I can get it at a very reasonable price and would only consider it if there was that much more noticable power. Since it has so few miles on it and I like the color I thought about doing the Corbin fairing and bags. Any thoughts?
 
I don't think you would be happy with it. Please let me know his contact info. I might make a sacrifice and buy it, just to help him out.
 
the power is different and noticable but it's more of what type of ride you want. It still has a lot of low speed power
 

As far as I know the classic is the same as the standard horsepower wise. I have a standard with the usual air filters / exhaust / tuneboy. Mine has a lot more power through the whole range than the Touring I rode. Tourings are great bikes as long as your not looking for all out power.
 
In Short, YES there is a difference. The Classic is the same as a standard, just floorboards and paint. The Touring is a completely different motorcycle, I had them both. The Touring doesn't handle as well, is WAAAY underpowered and produces more heat for the rider. The "Classic" is the Standard motor and handling package. You could do one better and get the Classic, and trade both for a new Roadster. then you'd have the best Rocket on the road.
 
Yes I have had both 06 classic and a 08 r3 t the classic does have more power than the r3t to me the handling was bout the same but both i enjoyed both bikes but do favor the classic more

Rainman, what about legroom is the foot placement the same? I have rode a roadster and did not like the peg placement
 
the leg room is bout the same i was very comfotable on both bikes im bout 6 ft if i get another rocket i believe i would go with the classic again
 
Guess I am going to have to soup up my touring for Fred Maybe the Carpenter kit when I have worn it out, lol.
