Interested in R3R

Trying to learn as much as I can about the R3R (good, bad, indifferent) before i pull the trigger. Current owners' opinions/advice appreciated.

I've only had my Roadster for a month, but so far I can't so much as set foot in the garage without getting a stupid grin on my face. As somebody mentioned above, it's mild-mannered when you want it to be and balls-out fun when you twist the wick. Low-speed maneuvering hasn't been a problem so far. Gas mileage isn't great, but if mileage is your game then buy a Prius.

In short, buy the ****ed thing and never look back. You'll be happy you did.

Welcome from exotic Idaho Ken O. The T-Bird is a nice little training bike. Trade it in on a Roadster. You won't believe the difference. The Roadster will make the T-Bird seam so small and docile. Go get a Roadster ... don't wait any longer.

That's hilarious. Clearly he doesn't/can't ride for ****, or he'd know it only takes a little too much throttle and a little too quick clutch release in 1st to get the front end up.

My first rocket wheelie was about 3 feet up and a totally accident going from 1st to 2nd when the bike was 100% stock, including the tune!

I hear it won't do a rolling burn out and can't corner...lmao.

She don't need the clutch, it can be done with just throttle in 1st, even bone stock.

Yes it can. Very first wheelie was in Glenpool Oklahoma coming home from work at 1:00 am. Sitting at a stop light a hot rod pickup pulled up beside me and started revving his engine. Light turned green and had the rpm's up and dropped the clutch. Much to my surprize the bike came straight up. Rode it half way through the intersection. Even though we played it off like it was a planned deal, it scared the living #rap out of me. Pickup driver was impressed. Figured out real quick that it was a lot like eating potato chips you can't eat just one. Welcome from the big city of Henryetta Oklahoma. Home to no. 74. (JUST BUY IT)

@Steel your absolutely right it will power up on just throttle in 1st if done right, was mentioning how it can happen on accident.

15mph and punch it in first is like a crash diet for the front tire

That said, I don't wheel the R3 a whole lot, big bike, big cost of it comes down hard or I drop her.

Plus I've learned that it doesn't get oil to the crank if you ride them too long. Cases, cranks, and rods get expensive after a couple of rebuilds.

Practice makes for perfection. The expression on the Harley riders faces when the big boy goes airborne is priceless. I do not keep it up for long just enough time get the message across. Can not wait for the Ramair and exhaust to show up.
