2025 Triumph Rocket 3 Storm GT
You see a lot of people mention the insurance premium for 1000cc+ sport bikes in forums and groups. Does that seem to be something that comes into play with the rocket?. I seen someone mention having a hard time finding a premium under 5k for a hyabusa which is about the same price as a second gen rocket 3.

I wonder if being younger would make a difference. It does seem the rocket has a bit older demographic compared to normal sports bikes. I was thinking, crash statistics probably plays a role in how much insurance companies charge for certain bikes.

I seen a quote for an 18-year-old for an R1. It was £12000
Well at least, who ever it was, didn't get refused cover :whitstling:

I remember back in the day when I was quoted over twice the value of the car I owned, just for third party only insurance. I think I was about 20 years old.
Being young can be costly even with a clean licence.

Yeah, it was bad as a new and young driver/ridder

I don’t know what it’s like in other countries, but as Jagster and Steff will testify to age/experience is the main problem. Followed by where you live in the country, big Cities being the worst.
One of my Army mates lives in Brent, a suburb of NW inner London. He’s got a top of the range Indians, £1200 Fully Comprehensive it cost him.
In comparison, I live a 130 miles away NE of him, in a small old fishing town. Bike theft in the U.K. in cities is pandemic, but here it’s mainly twist and go Scooters and the odd 125 bike. So my insurance is very reasonable compared to my mate. I’ve just insured my R111 and my BSA A65 fully comp with recovery and legal assistance £290!
