Instrumental panel problem

Cleaned it up with electrical cleaner and a needle, its like new now, Ill remember the vinegar method for next time, thank you, the corroded connection is now on the outside, with a male and female spade connector (bomb proof). Still doesn't work!!!!!!!!!! I'm now going all the way from the back to the front to make sure that everything is connected to the instrumental panel with a good connection. That'll be 17 wires and the jump connections inside the instrumental panel loom.

If any of your relays were hanging upside down they may have water inside of them and will be corroded or rusted

The bike was only 18 month old when I got it and it's been plagued with electrical problems. Stripping the bike down to expose the loom I can see why, there's more joints in there than in the whole of Amsterdam!!!!!!! The crazy thing is that the joints take up more room than the extra wire would and some of them are getting very hot, one of the joints gets so hot you can't bear your fingers on it. So I'm presently, repairing the whole loom before going any further with the testing. I find it hard to believe that my Rocket started off with the loom in this state, somewhere along the line when it was under investigation under its warranty, the loom gremlins got to it. P.s. I have checked the relays and there all working.

there is a slim line between working good and failure.
if u still have prob after wire repair i would replace the relays with 5 tab relays.

My speedo on my 2005 stopped working about four years ago as I have three Rockets it did not concern me, now I started it up the other day to stretch its legs and bingo the speedo is working again. Must be some company that works on speedos(not the swimwear) that can fix a lot of these so-called busted devices.

This might be of some help but a few years ago my 2011Roadster would now and then lose all power to the Speedo and tacho, with help of this forum i found and fixed the problem. There is a single purple wire coming from the fuse box to the large main harness near the steering head. It branches into two wires which power the speedo and tacho, see my photo below. The join was corroded badly, I cut open the harness, clean the wires, repaired and no more problems.
