Informal Insurance Poll

The depression state must be too close to Canada.

I'm paying 700 plus for 3 bikes no towing or roadside assistance (got that through AMA Motow). 3K acessory coverage except the Bonnie which has 7K for the chair. 100/300 all perils, 250 ded.

It would be 400 if you roll out the MCCA.

Allied, DesMoines, Iowa.

I pay about 700 for 2 bikes full coverage with the same numbers as you and plus I have $10000 medical. I go through Nationwide. You can't trust progressive the guy that caused ny wreck had progressive and they are fighting me tooth and nail and won't pay up.

Donald, are you in Delaware or NJ? I guess the former.

I'm going to do some quote shopping next week, so i'll let you fellas' know the damages. Pray for me!

I learned real fast that the best price is with an agent rather than online. Interestingly Progressive has 2 distinct price tables, one for online and one for independent agents.

I got a little miffed yesterday when I got my premium notice from Allied (coincidental to this thread) because the premium went up a hundred bucks but I realized that it was the MCCA and not the cost of the insurance.

If you roll out the MCCA, my cost coverage is actually decreasing.

Another thing you have to keep in mind is that insurance carriers set their rates quoted to you based on your credit score. If you have less than stellar credit or something overdue or if you've been sued or litigated against, it effects your credit score and that'w hat insurance carriers base their fee schedule on. It's very unfair and biased but that's the way it is, for now.

The Garbage State has always had high premiums. If you live in North Jersey or the Pine Barrens, you still pay for Newark, Patterson and Jersey City.:D Trunk locks and drivers licenses are optional there.

We have Detroit, Saginaw and Flint..... as well as MCCA (Michigan Catastropic Coverage Assessment).

Insurance Cos. = Modern day Robber Barons
....True, but if you own any real property and you don't want to be reduced to a vagrant in 30 seconds, you have to have it....and...

Some states (like Michigan) are on the identify system that automatically checks the status of your insurance and if it's lapsed, you don't get your validation sticker...not that it bothers me. I've been riding for years with one registered plate on 3 different bikes....:D

307 for the Rocket. Multy bike discounts, MSF rider couch discount, old man discount. SC is terrible for insurance. All my rates went up significantly when I moved here from AZ.

Try Penny at Insuraco, she represents Dairyland and some others. Tell her Kelly Johannes (recomended by L&D Suzuki) sent you. She will remember me because the day I signed with her, another new client crashed the Triumph he was taking delivery of into my MINI right there in L&D's parking lot. He managed a front flip and hit the tailgate while upside down and totally off the ground, amazing.
I did alot of checking and she had the best rates anywhere.
The number is 302-736-1500.

The good news is even with these high premiums, when my bike gets sick all I have to do is go to any doctor or emergency room and I don't have to pay.

One of the benefits our health care system...oh wait, I got mixed up. ****...I'm still getting screwed by insurance system..
