Well last rumor was the Honda buying Harley, now it's an Indian Company wanting to buy either Ducati or Triumph...

India is very quickly becoming a manufacturing giant. I can see an Indian (that don't sound quite right), an India company buying Triumph or Ducati or Aprilla. Money talks in Bloor's vocabulary as my other post in the other forum painfully points out.

india

I have heard that Hardly motors are cast in india..Anyone know If thats true?? Jack

Jack, I'll never bust your bubble....

Hardley has their castings cast in India. That came right from the Hardley shop in Toledo, I asked.

They aren't the only ones. Caterpillar Diesel, Detroit Diesel and MB has their main block castings poured in India too. Ford just closed their main foundry in Brook park, Ohio. It goes on.....

Malleable Iron casting in this country is so strangled by EPA requirements that 90% of the casting houses are tits up. Our wonderful gummit drove them out of business with regulations so stringent that to comply would have meant operating at a loss and who, except the gummit would do that?

Go to your local hardware store and try to find a valve with a cast body that's made here. You won't.

"The Indian (Bajaj Auto) company has been looking for an acquisition to help boost its engineering and product development expertise in order to crank out cruisers and higher displacement bikes in the 200cc-plus range. "

200cc plus range

"Bajaj has been on record as saying that the company will produce more products to help stock its bike retail channel Probiking and it has taken the view that entry-level four-stroke motorcycles" entry level would be what? 50cc " will become defunct as the second-largest bike market (India) in the world moves towards performance, the paper said."

Anything but Triumph, go for it.
