I would think your bag choice would depend a lot on how you intend to use them and the bike. I already have a Victory bagger so I only wanted something to pop on and off for the occasional long weekend, etc. while the crash damage was repaired on the Vic'. The Leatherlykes ($459+shipping) do ok for this. I added a Givi knockoff quick release trunk from JCW ($80 then, $90 now) and I have a more than adequate all weather lockable system for $560 that allows me to go from equipped to stripped in under 10 minutes. IMO neither the Leatherlyke Contemporaries nor the trunk are going to win any beauty awards, but they work well.
Just about any bag will function like the Leatherlykes when combined with Easy Brackets or the like.
Care about the looks? Corbin's the obvious answer.
If I was going to set up a Rocket for long distance touring function though I'd go with Hepco Becker bags and trunk. newR3.com sells brackets and bags too I believe. The H-Bs look to be the largest, most functional, well built bags out there for the $$$ and the bags pop right off at the end of the day. The nice part too is when or if you sell your Rocket there's a chance H-B makes the mounts to transfer the bags to your next bike.
