My bike had heated grips when I bought her. Those are eager to break so that is what happened and I replaced them with ISO grips, lost the bar end weights and so what. The bike handles the same except the ISO grips are better than the Triumph heated grips. If you have small hands I recommend Avon Metric Touring Air Cushioned Chrome Motorcycle Grip over the ISO grips. Had them on my ex-bike and they turned out to be excellent. Now that I have the ISO grips I guess I would buy Avon grips instead.
probably not needed, but I like the longer look so I added the kuryakyn end weights when I replaced mine. They are significantly lighter than the stock weights, and I haven't noticed a difference.
I made mine work with a bit of threaded rod a couple of nuts, rod couplings, lock washers and lock tite. Been on for over three years and has not come loose yet.
I put on Avon Air Cushion Grips after having my Kuryakyn throttle grip fail. I like the Avons more than the others although you can't use the bar end grips. If I were to do it again I would get a Barsnake to go with the grips and call it good. If you do replace your grips I would suggest you keep your throttle side grip stashed somewhere on the bike, "just in case".
