Idle Adjustment (mechanically?) - Need Help

So I need to adjust my idle up by maybe 300-400 RPMs. It hovers right around 650-700 now. With the supercharger pulley dragging on the engine it sounds like total crap at that range and is extremely rough. If I hold it anywhere in the 900 to 1100 range it purrs like a little kitten, regardless of whether the block is cold or warm.

Due to the SC install, I do not have a TPS on the left hand side of the throttle bodies. Is that the Primary? I'm not sure.

Anyway, what's the best way to kick up the RPMs just a tad?

I tried to tweak the throttle cable adjustment, but that only makes the throttle looser or tighter. It does nothing for the RPMs.

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. Pics will win down right utter praise.

Geek do you have the idle stepper motor on yours? Have you messed with your TPS voltage at all? let me know so I can point you in the right direction.

It might be the idle stepper that is missing, and not the TPS.

I have not messed with the TPS voltage whatsoever.

I will take a pic tonight of the missing component on the left of the throttle bodies and post it. That should answer your question ... since I am not able to :-(

by left side youy must mean the front and if so it is the stepper motor that is missing. Is you engine light on? if so it is because of the stepper motor fault and the missing Maps sensor. whn I get home I will send you a picture of how to adjust the idle manually. If you can hook the tune boy dash up and see what your TPS voltage is. Key and engine switch on engine not running. This is in tune boy dash on the sensors section.

OK, here is a pic of the left hand side of the oil tank. I'm pointing to the phantom part that is missing from my bike. Not totally sure if it matters or not, but this should answer warp's question:



Hehe ... maybe I'm totally crazy. Not sure. But it seems like there used to be a little servo there or something along those lines. If not, then disregard ... but I still need to figure out how to adjust the idle.

I went back to the idle stepper motor and plugged in the map sensor the electronics not the vacuum line cleared the faults in tune boy and presto no more engine light.

yes no stepper motor in the same area just to the right side of the throttle cables there is a little set screw with a 7 mm lock nut on it (it has a dot of yellow paint on the screw and nut) this is the manual adjustment. screw it in to raise the idle and lock the lock nut. It won't take much and of course this will also raise your TPS voltage some. This is why I want you to check the voltage first befor we start moving stuff so we can always go back. Did Richard send the stepper motor and map sensor back with your bike when he did the kit?

Between the two of you ... I should be able to find the thing! I'm gonna give it a shot when I get home from work. Let's see ... its 5:45pm now ... I screwed around half the day ... didn't get any work done ... Yes! I think its about quitting time!!!

FIXED! Thanks guys. For the sake of others, here is the magic bob screw that Warp and Ruzzle pointed me to. You don't need to remove the bear claw, but I did, and it is much easier if you do. Here are two pics of the same thing from different angles. The second one is straight on. This is how you get to it with an allen wrench after loosening the bolt.
