Perhaps Ken, @DEcosse will pop on with a suggestion or three?

You can't just go straight to battery, Wrecka, you need to be to be able to control it off the horn switch and can't put all that current through the switch.
So you need to use a relay.
Extend existing OEM wires from the OEM horn to the relay coil terminals:
Black/Blue to the 86 terminal*
Purple/Black to the 85 terminal*;
Then Battery Positive (via 25A Fuse) to 30 terminal**
And new Horn+ to 87 terminal**
Horn -ve to either engine ground or battery negative.**

* these wires can be small gauge - 20 is plenty
** these wires should be heavy gauge - at least 14, 12 is better.

Thanks mate , looking at the instructions that are in ant sized font thats exactly how i read it but awesome knowing what guage wires are needed , thank you

LOVE IT when a plan comes together!

I'm still trying to find a place to mount mine and probably will end up splitting it when I get round to it as any free time I have at present I'd rather be out riding before the cra* weather sets in.

As myself and other members have already stated, its incredibally easy to split the horn.. place the compressor in the left side cover.. run a clear hose under the tank and install the horn where the stock horn is. Remove the stock horn, place new horn there... its a tight fit but it gets in there! Also, the horn points forward and with out being blocked by a fender.. maximum volume.

Also, if you haven't already received or bought the wiring harness... just get one. They are inexpensive and make installation so freaking easy.

Just bought one, will fit it up this weekend , any threads available on instillation ?
Hey @Wrecka I just got mine in the mail on wednesday, same plans for this weekend. I already had a bit of a look at the situation last night. I separated it, but I would like to see how others have mounted it.. I chopped off the bits that hold the horn to the compressor (?) I will mount the horn where the old one was but it is not the best fit behind the horn cover, might need a custom mount. I managed to get it sort of angled back to get the horn cover to come close to it's original position, I could then create a mount that is twisted to conform to the original mount point..
The wiring looks pretty straight forward hooking up the original wiring to the relay and using a 25 amp fuse inline.
Have you had a go at it yet?
