I bought my R3R and it has rained more since then than it has in he past year! And it looks like it will be raining all this week and the next. No Lubbock trip for me.

Well, there's always quality rain gear. But yeah, the weather here is also kind of bad. It's about the same as it was in the winter - a few degrees on the positive side. Not what one might wish for in the middle of summer.

Oh yeah. I managed to do 8-hour rides through Norway the other year with my gear and the only thing that got moist was my feet and my left shoulder. Been meaning to upgrade to a one-piece rain-suit one can pull on over the rest of the gear but haven't gotten around to it. They're only $100 or can even be had for less.

Better option than a 1 piece - cos they ALL leak in the ****** and are a pain to on over gear that's even slightly wet - is a pair of rain pants that can live under your seat and rain jacket that takes up less room than a 1 piece. In my experience these work much better but are also more versatile. Light rain your leather jacket will do for a short while but you might want to keep your jeans dry, or you might just want a rain jacket when you stop somewhere - that sort of thing. Combined cost is also cheaper than a 1 piece. Just a suggestion.

Not to forget the leather/denim patch on the calf so they don't stick to your nice shiny new exhaust.....

Or......if you do happen to melt a hole in the pants you only have to replace them and not the whole suit.

I have had a one piece for years and the only time it leaked is when I did not close the Velcro properly after a pit stop

A properly designed one-piece rain suit doesn't have seams in the ****** area, and it has a gusseted zipper that has no openings for water until halfway up the chest. But yes, all rain suits will require periodic maintenance to be kept clean and be re-proofed occasionally.
