maybe a simple fix but i havent found it yet

normaly i have the idle stepper motor nut wouni so the stepper motor doesn't do mutch exept grunt
this is ok but on extremly cold mornings the bike barely idles at start up

so using tune ECU ichecked the TPS and for the first time set the idle stepper corectly

problem is that it idles at 2000 rpm for the first 5-10 seconds at start up
then resumes the apropriate RPM of 7-800

the high reving idle is anoying and if i ride off casualy and decelarate to less than 1000 rpm the idle stepper seems to raise the idle up to 1200-1300 stoping the decelaration

i know that some are going to sugest giving it a handfull of throttle but the bikes fine at high revs

its the going slow where the problem is

2005 k&n under seat
226 tune
prety mutch standard

i dont trust the local bike shop with my bike and i do lots of spanering myselph

Just had the high idle problem, just had a 10,000 mile servise (9500) was running tuneboy blastedbones tune that he kindly sent to me (it's a good one), at the triumph dealer they said they have the latest updated tunes from Triumph so I said nothing and let them put it in not wanting them to know any different to mess up the waranty and F--k me 2000 rpm on idle think it was 20226 Tors ,cat ,del, k+ns tune I think, pain in the arse reving like that what a c--t i felt a stop lights!! went backt the next day conected to Tiumph comp again he had a go at setting the throttle bodies and god knows what else but now all is good (as soon as I got home put in Bones tune and all is good ) maybe triumph as got a glitch on there tunes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ROB, trying to work out if the high idle is only after a cold start, & the problem dissapears once the bike warms up a bit? if so,might be that you have to leave it idleing in the garage for a couple of mins before setting off??

thanks for the responses

i think i have fixed it IDK nailed it with the reset the throtle off positionto 0%,

i remember a long time ago i turned the throtle stop screw to give me an idle whist i had TPS issues

so i think i have adjusted it it to the original position now,
reset the tps and stepper motor
adjusted the MAP sort of (how do i reach the other screw ??)
put the secondarys to 100 % on 2/3/4/5 gears

it now idles quite good
