Welcome from "down the road". Guessing you got it from Lakewood Triumph/BMW? 'Got my '06 from them three years ago. Good crowd but a bit far for me to be regular on the service front with a dealer here in South Colorado Springs.

Search for 'Utopia Seats' for an "easy to install" backrest. 'Just got mine last month and makes a big difference with the touring seat. The wife used *****in' Stichin to cut and shape her HD 1200 low so she could get her feet flat on the ground. Very happy with the gel inserts - etc. Imagine doing 300+ miles on a Sporty!!! She's getting pretty good at sticking in behind me when I relax the death grip on the throttle.

Welcome to the site, the R3T should be a great ride for you, ride it as much as you can before winter sets in.

Hey Stonkers, you think the black's fast, you should try the black and cream. It's so fast they had to stop bringing it to OZ coz the cream was sliding off during acceleration.:p

I had the same problem with both the Tour and Tour gel seats. Pain in the arse after 45 minutes. i had a mob out here called Comfy remodel the Tour to a single seater with just a low pad on the back, lifting it up an inch and moving me back 3". They upgraded the foam to a similar one to Russell. Perfect.

They're now working on the two up Tour gel. Hopefully it's as successful, but they can't get me the extra 3" with a pillion. Oh well, guess I just wait for forward controls from someone;).

This option is certainly cheaper than getting a Russell all the way out here, even though they are obviously not quite as good. Shipping's a killer.

Pete.

Got the R3T from those nice people at Foothills Triumph BMW, Lakewood, Co. From the posts here, I may have to put on my hipwadders before signing on. Great bunch. What's with all the Ozzies?? I'm a transplant from Montreal myself. Rode Ducatis for 3 months a year, when it wasn't snowing. Ski-Doos got more use.

Congrats on the new R3T! I just picked up an 08 left over myself. Mine is black and new england white. I think I just hit the 400 mile mark on the R3T. It is getting a bit cold here in MA, USA as well

Oh to be home

I am green (a very slow color) with envy. I have been in that shop several times. I usually live in Cheyenne. You should make sure you have info on their 100,000 foot ride which is sponsored by the Colorado Beemers club. What a fantastic experiance that is. (I've missed it last summer while on deployment). The idea is to ride several mountain passes that equal 100,000 feet in altitude.
That may be the shop where I buy mine when I return. I've been kinda watching that one and secretly hoping it would stay on the floor til I returned. You beat me to it. Makes me almost:sick:

-The stock windscreen is low for me. Luckily Clearview is just down the road from me. I'm 5'9", and am wondering whether to go for the 19" with a lip, or the 21" with a lip.
Cee Bailey makes EXCELLENT replacement screens for bikes. They are an aircraft windscreen manufacturer and do bikes on the side. You can have one made up any height you want, in fact you can order it too tall on purpose, try it out and send it back to be custom cut any way you want. I have one of the taller ones (look through, not over) and love the quality. They are a tad thicker than stock so it stands up to 150mph easily even oversized. The link is www.ceebaileys.com/cycle/
