Getting ready to do the 84000klm service on my 08. I bought a Unifilter as replacement filter happy that it was almost half the price of the standard paper filter. But when I got it I discovered it is a washable filter. I have never been a fan of them because on truck and car filters the washable types have always had a lower airflow when tested under lab conditions.
This is not the pod type but the replacement for the stock filter.

Anyone else use one?

Thanks. I took it for a ride today, it seemed ok. After inspecting it I found it was not so washable because of the way the filter is constructed. I'm pretty sure you cant pull it apart.

K & N uses a spray and then rinse with a water hose inside filter to flush debris out. The filter has to completely dry before applying a light mist of filter oil. The filter will last about as long as you will....

I sent a message to the seller on ebay. I think he just realised the official blurb from Unifilter where it says "washable" does not apply to all their filters he is selling and he has apologised.
Ill stick with it til the next service and may look at the K&N. I prefer the paper filters but at $80ea, it feels expensive. My Landcruiser filter is of the same generic construction, four times the size and costs 1/4.
