Well.. finally got the Hyperlights installed; after much head scratching as where to mount them. I think this is the best spot; they greatly assist the OEM brake light and I've always felt that the Rocket was VERY lacking in rear illumination.

The Hyperlights are the Universal 16 Led's per unit; and I have them set to constantly flash as the brake is applied. You can cut one of the control module wire (the green wire) to let them flash 5 times and then stay on bright like a brake light; but I like the constant flashing brake light better.

These are VERY easy to wire up; they use Posi-Connectors to tap into the bike's brake wire; as well as a constant ignition wire and a ground.

Also, you can see the new Bridgestone Exedra max tire, going out in about an hour to scrub it and get the mold release agent off of it.

Mold release agent... use acetone on a rag/paper towel & rub around the tyre.. cleans it up & allows full power use straight away.. in my experience.

Nicely done.

I recently reviewed the Virginia Code on flasher lights and found that our nanny state requires the 5 second style, not the continuous flash. I am not inclined to make that change yet as no LEO has said anything to me so far.

Oh. I didn't know that. Well... I'll do the chicken strips then; since I didn't get those scrubbed in today.

Good, keep 'em continually flashing until your LEO's say otherwise. I thought Kalifornia was the only state with the 5 flash rule regarding them... Easy fix to make them compliant anyway.

I have occasionally found that some cops on the road these days are just as confused about the traffic laws and statutes; as much as we are.

I'm not sure what Maryland code says; but I haven't been hassled by the MSP about them (the Hyperlights). Only been hassled once by the State Police with the Headlight Modulators; and twice by the Howard County cops for the Headlight Modulators as well. Which are legal anyway; Howard county cops were asinine about the entire matter until I contacted Internal Affairs that very night and lodged a complaint against the cop. Next day; I had a detective calling me; making things right and dissolving the tickets; with a promise to put out a circular in the department about the legality of Headlight Modulators.

very very nice will, 3 tailights goes with the rocket 3. id like to have more tail and brake lights but have no panniers nor inspiration :Tip-Hat:

I set mine up for the five-second flash, then steady....... otherwise you stop somewhere with traffic sitting behind you and the flashing lights would prolly give them the ****s.... particularly other riders you may be travelling with. (And THEY will let you know about it at the next coffee break!!)

OK so you reckon that's good...!!

It's like riding in front of a bloke who's got his headlight modulators on.... it's a real PITA....

If you have stopped and you see someone coming up behind you, you only have to release then re-apply the brake to make 'em flash again.

Agree. I do not constantly hold the brake at a stop. Unless I'm on an incline. Although when I have a vehicle approaching from the rear; I will apply the brake and let them suckers flash until they have stopped behind me. More than not, they end up creeping very slowly upon stopping; since they're a little mystified (I imagine) at the bright, strobe like flashing of the Hyperlights. Very noticeable! ;) And that is the EXACT desired effect that I am after. To be noticed.

I may end up cutting the green wire anyway, on both my DR650 and the Rocket. To give the 5 flash then steady bright. Just depends how I feel later on in the year about it. :) At either rate... these Hyperlights are awesome...
