Thanks Hans ! So yours works but has a blue cable, hmmm. Yours has the same chip as mine, which also comes in the gray cable version that is also know to work. The big question is, does Skips also have that number chip in it, cause his doesn't work.

So where exactly is this number and letter combination.?
Hans' little green part looks like mine as well as his cable, being solid blue.
But where is it that your green thing says whatever it was again,
cause mine has numbers and a letter or two by each little hole dealie,
but I ain't seeing no bunch of numbers and letters together anywhere.
I guess the easy(?) way to know if it's working or not,
would be to see if the led comes on when it's plugged in.
Mine doesn't...

Anybody know why Tuneecu is free ?

No, but I'll venture a guess.
Tom saw the dealer support from Tuneboy (or lack thereof) ,
maybe had one or had a friend with one and thought,
I can do better than that..
Now that's just a guess, but he sounds like he's not interested in making any money off of it,
from what I gathered from the website....
Maybe he's independently rich and a computer genius,
maybe he likes triumphs and don't like factory restrictions,
maybe he's just a darn good guy with no ulterior motives at all......
Your guess is as good as mine, probably better.

Hi ya skip. On the green circuit board there is a square (actually rectangular) little black chip. The one in mine has the letters FTDI-FT232RL on it. That seems to be the magic bit that makes them work. I'm guessing yours has a different number on it. Yours is probably an earlier cable.

let me break out the magnifying glass an check.
mine has some Chinese writing on it....
That's probably the problem right there...
My new cable should be in hopefully tomorrow.
probably not, but hopefully..

Here's a link to a cable that works. It's where I got mine and it works fine. They must have the FTDI chipset to work. On EBAY they sell several but they don't all have the same chipset and they won't work with tuneecu with out the FTDI chip.
