I know what you're talking about, I adusted the connection holes with a file when I fitted TOR's to my 2011 roadster.
I don't think it was as wide a gap as yours, more like 8mm.

Thank you for the diagrams. Now I have a much better idea of what is involved and what to look for. I have been blind in my right eye for several months due to a cataract in that eye, one of the worst my surgeon had ever seen. Thanks to his surgery last thursday I have good vision again. With that and your diagrams I think I have a good shot at closing that gap. Thanks again!
