How about these Viking bags? I like 'em !!!

As you all know, I had some trials and tribulations with Corbin; they never got back to me so I guess they'll enjoy the returned bags :grin:

Anyway, I had been studying my Rocket and agonizing over the thought of a different type of bag; and I was afraid that I was going to end up with something bulky looking; and non-fitting with the lines of the Rocket.

However, I had been studying this particular Viking bag, and ended up purchasing it. It is smaller, but I only need the capacity for carrying small odds and ends IE tools, tire repair stuff, rain jacket and the occasional 6 pack of beer or a raw chikken. I have a sissy bar bag for bigger stuff and/or bungee cords....

Viking has their own universal mounting kit; but the angles of it didn't quite fit the bags right. I was going to purchase the Ghost or Easy brackets, but really didn't want that bulkiness of the bracket on my bike. So after a little Yankee Engineering and G.I. ingenuity; I ended up using some fender washers, spacers and a couple of longer metric bolts. Bags are nice and secure.

How you like? You think they fit the Classic well? I especially like the buckles on the back.....

As long as you don't need the capacity, they look remarkably good on the bike.

However, I find it difficult to use bags that don't lock. I once had a hat which I bought at the Hard Rock in Malta stolen out of a non-locking saddlebag and ever since then, I've insisted on locking bags.

Those Vikings look as if they were made for your Rocket, however! Great choice in a soft bag.

..you got short changed on those Will..somebody stole the bottom half..:lol:..now the tops have that nice arcing line, but they're to small imo..I've currently got my leathlykes on..can't beat 'em for functionality..on and off in seconds..and only two long shouldered bolts are needed instead of brackets..but they are ugly as hell..

Yes, they would seem small but they really blend in with the back end of the Rocket; they don't stick out and say "SADDLEBAG".

I didn't want to aesthetically overload the rear of the bike with bags. I initially thought the Corbins would've complimented without being overbearing in presence; though these bags I think are doing performing well for light capacity as well as good looks.
