SCORING

17- 20 correct: You are older than dirt, and obviously gifted with mental abilities. Now if you could only find your glasses. Definitely some one who should share your wisdom!

12 -16 correct: Not quite dirt yet, but you're getting there.

0 -11 correct: You are not old enough to share the wisdom of your experiences.

Wow, I only knew two of them. At 34 I have no wisdom to pass on to anyone unless you want to talk about getting loaded at college and playing video games instead of studying!

Bragging Rights

WT......There you go again reminding me how old I am. I got them all right and I'm not sure if that's a good thing. Von talked about not being old enough to know the answers....well he might be luckier than he thinks. I've found that the older you get the more things you learn and when your brain fills up, your body puts all the extra information into your body. That's why old, heavy people are quite smart.

Did I ever tell you that my high school diploma was written in hieroglyphics. That's my story ........ and I'm sticking to it.

P.S. It brought back some wonderful memories. Thanks Link Removed

I always liked Clove gum and I remember the wax Coke bottles with the colored/flavored syrup inside. I also remember the candy dots on the paper strips, do you?

I grew up in Cleveland, Ohio in the heart of the city and our milkman always left the milk in a metal box with a lid. It was lined with (oh my God) asbestos sheets to insulate it. He drove an old Divco milk truck and always had ice cubes in the back with holes in them you could put your little finger through. I faintly remember the horse drawn milk wagon but I clearly remember the Divco milk truck. I used to watch Romper Room with Ms. Barbara on the RCA black and white TV with a big 12" screen.

Times have changed, I'm not sure for the better.

Well... I can remember voting for King Tut.... so I must be older than dirt:D

Do you remeber the civil defense symbols on the Radio dial of your 60's car? In case of nuclear attack you were to tune to one of these and get the latest info on how you were going to fry. I have these on my Wonderbar in the 66 Caddy and had a young man ask me what those were for. When I told him he thought I was full of it and I think he believed I was yankin' his chain :D

We get to talkin' about a lot of this stuff at work and the kids can't even comprehend how things were... If you were lucky you had three TV stations to watch. No cable TV... no internet.. Really... no or very few FM radio stations. When I was a kid you had to wait until Saturday night to hear a little Rock n Roll on one of the AM stations between 8 and 10 PM.

But you can go back even farther than that. I bought several old magazines from the early 1900's that had some very cool old car ads in them (Stuff like REO..ect), but there were far more piano ads than car ads. And ads for sheet music. This baffled me for awhile until it dawned on me those people had no TV, Radio, or anything else. You had to entertain yourself... so you played piano. Many of my very old relatives when I was a kid had pianos.... yikes....

BTW... that's a great test Wilbur...

what WILL our children look back on when they are in their 50's and 60's?

"Thats right, Jimmy. When I was your age, motorcycles had rubber tires that rolled on the ground."

"Don't be silly, Grandpa. NO one would want to poke around like that...
"HEY, WATCH OUT FOR THAT ASTEROID, YOU CRAZY OLD COOT!"
"Maybe you better let me drive, you're only doing mach three. Look at that line behind us."

"Well Jimmy, this Triumph Rocket X11 is a little different than what I used to ride. Why this one time I came out of a hairpin turn at 60 and there was a truck in my lane...

:) Got 17 of them...but since I'm 51 I had better remember a couple of things from the old days....
