Yamaha Vmax 1700 Test

Last Saturday I was with some friends who have VMAX's 1700.

I rode it a bit and i was impressived with the brutality of power.
It's nothing comparable to the Rocket. All stock, Vmax fulminate the Rocket. What a beast!!!!!

My brother has one,They are pretty quick with just slip on mufflers, K&N filters and a tune....my 200hp rocket cant keep up.

Ha, they are restricted a fair bit in our country. The throttle shuts at 8000rpm. I did one a while back, the owner stabbed some holes inside the muffler to improve the note. When I started it had 172hp at the tyre. Fitted an air filter, tuned it and 200hp. Pulled to 9500 . As the young guys say, "fully sick" . Sounds great.

I have test rode the Gen 2 VMAX twice and do love it. And I really do miss my Gen 1 though it was truly not the curve carver I needed it to be. The Gen 2 handles corner way better for sure.
