HELP with Rivco 'driver' floorboards

I have an '08 Classic and recently obtained a set of passenger floorboards from RIVCO. They installed easily and look great! I then contacted RIVCO for a set of 'driver' floorboards to match - and learned they do not make these for the 'Classic'. They only make these for the standard Rocket III. Can anyone tell me what would be required to change the 'classic' floorbards to the Rivcos?

I believe the width of the mounts are what is different the classic board mount are wider and the Rivco were specifically designed to go on the foot peg rails. So you will need new rails off a regular Rocket. Did you know the rivco driver boards are not as long as the classic ones you will loose some foot placement.

Yes - I am aware that the RIVCOs are smaller, but that's not a problem for me. I took another look at the Classic rails and I suspect you are correct...guess I need to search for a set of peg rails. Thanks!

Exchange

Interested in exchanging a set of rails from a standard 07 for your classic rails and floorboards? I could ude the extra foot room. I think we would have to exchange the rear brake line as well.

Anybody out there ever done this/ Will this exchange work?

I have the Rivco driver boards on my 08 R3 Standard. Personally I wouldn't change from what you already have. I like my boards but the only reason I went with Rivco is specifically because I wouldn't have to change out the rails and break line and of course, way less expensive. If I had it my way, it't be the Triumph boards all the way.

I suspect you want this because then they'd match the passenger boards with the Chrome and black rubber bits. I would look to see if you can emulate the look in other ways.

Just my thoughts... I think you won't be too happy going from the Triumph boards to Rivco.

Thanks for the input. You are right - I am looking to do this for 'looks' only - but it sounds as if I'd be sacrificing a lil too much comfort. It's funny how RIVCO dosen't make a matching driver board for models (Classic - Touring) that clearly will see an upgrade by owners from pegs to floorboards - especially if they're riding 2-up. Maybe I'll give them a ring..and a little prodding*
