Hi chetalien, I just got a classic in july and have put 4000 miles on it already. Dont worry about the slight increase in power on the roadster, with a few simple mods the classic will have more. The only real benifit I can see is the new further back foot pegs as my feet start to get blown off the pegs above 120 mph. The MSN tested the standard rocket and it did 0 - 60 in 3.6 secs. Just get any of them they are all great. I suspect you might get a very good deal on an older model now if your local dealer needs to shift them to make room for the roadster. If money isnt a concern then I would wait for the new model as it looks a bit meaner out the box.
Get a rocket and have some fun.

Hi Chet.

It's going to be more expensive to run than a Fazer, that's for sure.

Insurance depends on age & experience, but mpg is governed by the right wrist. I can get nearly 200 miles out of a tankful, or as little as 120 if I'm in hooligan mode.

Rear tyre will need replacing in 3 to 3500 in the UK at about £170 a pop (don't listen to the Yanks with their stories of ultra high tyre mileage - they must all ride like pussies :)

It's not just the 0 - 60's that are fun on this beast. 60 - 100+ is just a flick of the wrist.

Go for it & enjoy.

I just want to know how in the hell you ever get 200 miles out of a tank of gas? Since the triple filters, Preds, GiPro I'm having a hard time getting 135 out of a tank and that's riding normal. Well, normal for me!

When I was group riding to Hells Canyon earlier this year and was forced to put along with the HDs in my club, I got over 200/tank with preds and trips.

Around town on my commute, I'm lucky to get 125. Highway with the wife this weekend I got 150.

It only happened once, John  It was a long ride back from the frozen wastes that is Northern England, in the pouring rain, when I had to go a bit steady. My usual range is nearer the 135 mark, but I have got it as low as 120 :D

Sorry juggernaut- what is TPS and ignition switch replacements. I better be equipped with it when I go to the dealer. Sorry i'm a real noob

Both Juggs & myself (and a lot of others) have had trouble with primary throttle position sensors (TPS) going bad, and ignition switches becoming unsoldered. Irritations.
