Helicoil blues

Looking closely at it now I think your right I've never used one before but that is the colour of alloy too, what threw me was is was a coil but yes it breaks under abit of pressure that's made me feel abit better cheers for that info Tripps

Usually it is simple if u know what you are doing but on the rocket starter that thread is on the engine block.
It goes thru the starter then thru the stator cover so the tap is not long enough to complete the tap job so it will jam the helicoil and scrap the case.
Becarefull on giving advice on this one till you find out the rest of the story.

When a bolt is tightened to much When it comes out it will sometimes bring out the threads also .
If that will crumble then it is aluminum threads.
As a guess I think it might be m 10
I had a few beers last night and i completely ran past the obvious part of your post sorry about that, whenever this bike goes down it takes me with it, and still I can't help but love it

Anyone know if Triumph uses those One-Time/One-Use fasteners?? (one torquing/ bolt stretch etc and they cannot be re-used)

Can't he remove the stator cover?

I think those are only used on engine components, like head bolts.
