Got a phone call today for a job interview down at the ammunition plant in Mcalester OK. NAVSEA. Job Consist of working with Systems Engineering Department of NAVSURWAR CEN. Head TECH DIV. NAVSEA. Very high dollar welding job. Kind of hard to turn down. Intern clearance with ability to pass Secret clearance required. Even got a haircut (very short) Gonna buy a pair of nice pants and a button up shirt with new boots. Already passed the weld test. Not a if I get this job but more a when will determine if i can make the run or not.

Now THAT is service to our country (and the rest of the free world -- do we remember when the US emptied military warehouses to ensure the British had what was needed to boot the Argentinians off Falkland Islands).

Sitting here looking at 60 years old next month and realizing that i am one interview away from landing the best job of my life is nerve racking to say the least. The job consist of a lot of R&D work and requires attention to detail along with precision welding. Really on pins and needles nerves are shot.
