Hate to see her (my beloved VTX) go

The last bike into the stable was the Rocket. The Beemer is on the market - beautiful bike but I just can't get comfortable on it. The GS has sentimental value (owned for many years since almost new, had a break of ownership for about five years and bought it back!) I've got it stripped down at the moment (to do the valves, carb overhaul, ceramic coating of the exhaust and other cosmetic work) to bring it back up to a decent riding condition. The Bully I just love because it's easy to chuck around, comfortable and a different ride than the Rocket. Did thousands of k's on that two up with she who must be obeyed on the back. When the GS is ready, I'll let the Bully go I think. Choices, choices but the $ add up for insurance, rego, maintenance etc so it's time to get down to the sentimental one and the forever bike soon! Sad to see them go when there's an attachment for sure. Seems like you've gotten over the affair pretty quickly though! :)
Thought it would be much harder, but once I rode the R3, thought about the reasons I liked the x, and how the r3 satisfied any benefit of the x, the x became, well, the x lol Kinda like the x wife situation. really hard at first, but then once well thought out, the "new model" is more what you want, it was a no brainer. You will be fine. I also had the GS 1200, sold that because I missed more power of the vtx. Missed handling and all kinds of goodies from the gs, but the power was a must for me. Like you I bought back my vtx! Then wanted a lower mileage cleaner one, which is the one I just let go. You will be fine. I don't know how similar your r3 is to the 2020 ones. Test drive the 2020 R3!!
