Like the title asks, has anyone upgraded the battery cables on the R3T? If you have and still have the old cables or the order form from the new ones could you share the measurements of the cables and what ends you had put on them?

thanks

I just ordered the stock negative cable from triumph and then doubled them up. I think it was 12 bucks and easy as pie to install. Might need a little longer bolt on the battery end.

Mine is not a touring but i doubt if the cables are any different in length since the frame only changes in the rear area (Narrows for the smaller rear wheel) Anyway when I did mine I just pulled them and took them to the local rip off auto parts store (I live in the country) Anyway I asked them to make me up a set with larger cables and a couple three inches longer just to make it easier to turn any bends. work like a champ 20 bucks and I was down the road. Oh and I did switch from the 90 degree bend on the battery ends to straight since I had already straightened them out when I switched batteries.

Bob,
Old thread, I know, but just wanted to say I doubled up on my pos and neg cables before this recent trip and am VERY pleased with the results!
Noticible increase in cranking RPM!
Bought the cables off EBay.

This is what I did on my 08 Standard with just some basic tools and a LP gas torch to sweat the solder on ends.
I bought 200 amp (I know it is a bit of overkill but I worked a treat and was only $10) cable of Ebay in red and in black 1 metre lengths then took cables out of bike lucky I did as there are different size eyes on stock cable, could not source bent end for battery end so used straight one and just allowed extra length to allow for the fact that cable were looped into a U shape under seat I also found that it was not necessary to follow the exact path they used, this made fitting the heavier cable easy, starter spin much faster now
