Has anyone tried one of these on R3?

Just ordered one so I will let you know when I get it, I had one fitted to my last bike Suzuki M1800R (M109) and not sure if it really improved the power but the gear indicator is useful, stops you looking for 6th gear, easy to fit just plug in and go.

Be careful guys, I think the plug & play wire loom relates to the Acumen version and that doesnt work on the Rocket. If you do a search you will see my bike was the test unit and they never managed to make it work.

They spent hours on it both in their work shop and at my house and they gave up.

I've just done a google on the gipro and you need a Gipro T01 which is not listed on that web site try this one

http://www.bikehps.com/acatalog/GIpro.html

Let me know how you get on I might try again, although the mounting position I originally used (on the driving lamp swith block) is no longer present so I will have to look for somewhere else to put it

Gipro fitted

Fitted the Gipro TRE today to the Rocket and as with my last bike its hard to say if it improves anything but the gear indicator works good out the box, the settings for the TRE are worded differently to the last one I had, the last one just had a choice of 6 maps ...TRE off and 1-5 were the 5 gear maps. The Rocket unit goes like this,...
TRE off
1=soft setting, TRE active in 1-5 gears
2=medium setting, TRE active in 1-5 gears
3=hard setting, TRE active in 1-5 gears
4=hard setting, TRE active in 2-5 gears
then it says..."you can try each mode to see which works best for your bike"
This is not so easy to understand what its doing, if anything. I have it on setting 3 at the moment.

Where have you mounted it,

I really like the idea of having one, but not keen on sticking bits like this where they dont look right. As I said before I had the acumen one on the switch box for the spot lights over the hole where the handle bar heater switch would have been. However I have since replaced that switch assembly with a HD one built into the indicator switch housing which looks a lot better.

I guess we all search for one more gear. I finally realized that if the tach and speedo are parallel, it is fourth gear. If the tach is "pushing" (lower than) the speedo it is in fifth and finally if the tach is 'pulling' the speedo, it is in third. ( And by the way, the bike does OK starting from a dead stop, two up in THIRD if you let the clutch slip for second, ) (don't ask why, but I did it!)
