Got a question for all u tech guru's. Bought risers 1" up 2" back. Wouldn't it be alot easier to remove the top triple clamp to re-route cables behind triple clamp instead of disconnectin' everything. I have wind screen to help keep thing in place?
I think it will be a more comfortable wheelin' position!

Easier to remove the top triple tree than undoing the clutch cable at the lever i don't mean to be rude ...seriously ... but maybe a good idea to run it past the guys on here before attempting anything else mechanical. Just trying to help mate.

stormin...firstly welcome to the forum. It sounds like you are talking about the Rivco risers. I put the same on my roadster and it does improve riding comfort for me. I didn't remove the triple clamp. I removed the clutch cable and brake hose to re-route...I did have to bleed the brakes when I was done but not that big of a deal. BTW...based on my experience putting these things on they are about the limit of how far you can move the bars without different brake line. Plenty of slack on the clutch cable tho...

Seriously Dude???
Looks like clutch...brake & throttle cables need to move behind triple clamp.
removing triple clamp must just b for big boys !

Entirely possible...I was fitting a throttle lock at the same time so throttle cable was already disconnected

On my 05 only the brake and throttle cables needed to move behind the triple tree. I did remove the tree though, it gave me an opportunity to check the steering stem nut tightness. It is no big deal.

I to have the Rivco Risers and the cables are just fine infront of triple tree but you just need to move them in behind the thin metal bar frame (in behind the lights) so take the time to undo cables (throttle, clutch) the brake line is fine no need to do anything to it, you can also alternatively order the Classic model clutch and Throttle cables which are a bit longer, but I really would not sugest it nessary to remove triple tree... just making a lot of extra work unless you happen to checking the steering head bearings as one of the previous posters mentioned. I would also be wary of taking the cables in behind the TTclamp as on full lock it could pinch cables causing internal binding and damage to the outer cables.

So does this mean that I don't have to reroute the cables when I put the risers on my Classic? Because that would be super. (So rare that projects get easier.)

Not necessarily, the classic bar pull back a bit more which is why cables are longer but if you were to put STD bars on yes you would be fine
