Here is how mine worked out. GPS sits right above the gauges. I'm sure I could figure out how to fit it with the flyscreen in the factory position, but I pushed mine out 2" to make key access easier
Thanks again R3Tex, I'm guessing that as I have a different flyscreen (not triumph's one but one from Chris of custom sculpts) I may get away without any further mods to it, it already sits quite a way out fitting flush at the bottom with the outer edges of the lights.
I got a Garmin Nuvi 50 LM GPS for x-mas. Has anybody found a decent handlebar mount that doesn't cost more than the GPS unit did ? There are a lot of them for sale on Amazon but most get low ratings. One I read about, the guys GPS fell out of the poorly designed mount and hit the pavement while under way . I don't need an enclosed mount. If it's raining I'll put it away. Any suggestions ?

I used the Ram mounting hardware that came with the GPS and purchased a couple of extra pieces to get it where I wanted.
Looking through the Ram mounts available I don't think there isn't much you cannot achieve with them.
Ignition has been relocated previously so no probs there.
I remove the forward screw (closest to the flyscreen) from the bracket that holds the gauges in place and replaced it with a slightly longer one. The screw goes through the center of the ball. This puts your mounting point for the whole assembly on the bars between the two gauges.
