I'm having my 08 standard dyno'd, mainly to finally get a proper custom tune on it and hopefully sort out an erratic idle that has defied all previous attempts to correct. Had to replace car tire with MT or they wouldn't do it, ok I guess it's worth it. Then they called me to have me sign a waiver, said the transmission seemed overly clunky and hard to get into N when running, were afraid it would self destruct I guess under the stresses of dyno. I had not noticed anything amiss with the transmission so I signed it, but now it has me worried. I guess my question is this; are there any subtle signs your transmission is going to fail? How concerned should I be?

Since no one has responded, I'll give my mostly useless 2 cents.
The tranny will probably not explode on the dyno.
From past posting history, the symptom of problems finding neutral don't usually include explosions or seizing, etc.
Of course, anything can happen.
Search on 'Detent Spring' for hours of reading enjoyment on problems related to your symptoms.

Good luck. You should be fine.

I'll check the adjustment when I get it back. Honestly, reading the threads about detent springs and lifter shafts, I'm not experiencing the problems those guys were. Not sure what the dealer is talking about; Rockets transmissions are always pretty clunky.
