Gear shifter washer ?

Anyhow got a loose washer under there shifter? See pic …. I put a video on face book And some Are the same. 2020 GT
One guys is weeping oil and going n for warranty ….. mine is loose but no
Oil coming out….. yet.

Just a guess but I suspect the washer is meant to be loose and is there to help protect the shift mechanism in the event the bike is dropped. It’s actually a mod I did on my Scrambler for exactly that reason, although the shaft sticks out sideways and therefore more likely to be pushed in. If that’s the purpose then any oil leaking would be due to an internal seal failure, not the washer being loose.

Just seemed to be a bit weird to me a washer rattling around on a 35k bike lol

I noticed that as well when I moved my pegs down, thought it was a bit odd but figured it's part of the design. I just got my 3R 2 weeks ago.
