if the timing was off it would be off on all cylinders.
how old is the gas?
a spark plug will fire with out compression. but in a spark plug tester as u raise compression the bad plug will fail.
some times a soaked plug is not good.
i have seen several dodge ecu's fail at the injectors (and i THINK that they flood.)
i will go back and read the thread to see if i am missing something.
it may be possible that the injectors are getting a bad signal or 1 & 2 are shorted.
i think that u should put a 12 light tester on the pos side while u are turning it over and see what it does.
if u disconnect the bat and unplug the ecu then take ohm reader and check each of the wires that warp has posted. from each of the wires to the positive terminal. u should get an ohm reading and they all should be close to the same.
Gas is fresh. It was sitting for 3 years so that was step 1. Pins all show the same resistance, about .2, I don't have a 12v test light could I use my multimeter? Are you saying the ECU may be fried? I might try new plugs but I would think since I swapped them from the firing cylinder that it would rule that out.
yes
do they ohm correct. if they do there are probably plugged.
they may be stuck open or they may have an open or shorted and some times when they get hot then can go to very hi ohms if i am checking one i use a heat gun to get it hot.
i think u r on the right tract of fixing it.
if its firing on #2 then i think ecu is ok.
i may be leaving in a little while. hth
Check for power at each injector lead. You can check the injectors to see if they work with a 9 volt battery or even a good AA battery. Turbo is correct, if they are dirty or clogged they may appear to be non functioning. If you do remove the injectors you should clean them with this small battery method at the same time. It is easier than you may think and its probably time for a good bath anyway. It does sound like you are on the road to success here. Were you able to determine if the coils were OK?
