Here are 2 pics, 1st is original, 2nd is from update kit. Looks kinda cheesy compared to the original. Are these really better ?

Triumph thinks so. I have one in my Update Kit but chose not to put it in. I just put a little bend on the original one when I changed the filter. Now the low fuel light comes on at 4.8 gallons used instead of 4.2 gallons used. I'm OK with that.

I had heard the new style is easier to install without bending it. Not sure, as it's longer and that is the problem, getting it in the opening as everything is trying to go around the corner.

I do use the trip meter ya big meany . I had it out to change the fuel filter and thought I'd change it since I had the new one.

I thought it was only us old guys that didn't trust plastic over steel. It is good to see someone else recycles old socks though.

Don't polish with the crunchy socks.
They scratch the paint.
