Two wheel tires at blacksoil are ordering me the exedra max and fitting it next thursday looking forward to trying it out will post my opinions on handling and at the end of its life its durability.
Thanks Richard for the suggestion if it holds even the same on the road as the metz but gives me a couple extra thousand k ill be sold on the bridgy

I'm sure this has been posted elsewhere but just a little more hijack......

things I like about Excedra Max....besides handling & wearability:
Corrects speedo reading.
Lowers RPMs....slightly stretching gear ratios & fuel economy

....and without labouring the point, the actual improvement in fuel economy (and mileage from the tyre) is slightly greater than the apparent improvement because you're actually travelling further than the odometer shows compared to a 50 series. I worked it out somewhere - think it was something like an extra foot travelled for every 3 revolutions of the back wheel. Take that over a tank of fuel or the life of the tyre and it's not insignificant.

when I had the Toyo 245/55/16 it corrected the speedo 4% so when working out your fuel economy it was just a matter adding 4% or for those that have trouble with percentages add an extra 4 mile/km for every 100 mile/km traveled

Putting it in Prospective then..

4 Ml/Km per 100
40 Ml/Km per 1000
400 Ml/Km per 10,000

With a bit of care you could gain an extra 500 + Ml/Kms per tyre

I got 13000 ks out of my Cobra so it looks good at 520 more Ks...

I rode the dragon just at the end of a good rain with a week old Avon Cobra on the front. Very high marks for traction.
I pushed my comfort level on the twisties waiting for a sign of some traction loss and the Cobra did not let go.
Now I have to determine my vote on tire life.

I bit the bullet and voted for my current Bridgestone but probabloy should have waited until I was certain it's better than the Avons I've been using. My experience with Avon was always the same as yours Nolton. An excellent (front) tyre.
