****it Dave, your are supposed to agree with me.:D

My preference in clamps would be to stay away from the "P" type clamp and use a 2 piece clamp. The "P" type because of it's nature, spreads the clamping force through minute elongation of the ring itself whereas the 2 piece clamp exerts a more concentrated (and thus less able to slip) force as the two halves squeeze together like a vise.

Yeah, but when the dresser bars are going to crush and bend on impact, does it really matter how much contact clamping area you have?

When I wrecked my Venture the "roll bars" crushed and bent right in. The only thing that gave them some stability seemed to be the Kuryakyn highway pag clamps.............

Well, at least the crushing bars give you a second's chance of getting your feet out of the way?

Asphalt is pretty hard.....abrasive too.

New Bars

I recieved and installed the new bars today. They are 1.25" diameter and have a three bolt mounting. They are very good quality and appear to be very rigid when I tried to move or flex them. The only true test of the quality, will of course be, if and when I lay it down which I hope I never do. Until then, I'll keep cruising and hope for the best. PS. I purchased them off of the Internet from a Triumph Dealer for $180 plus $12 freight. Next purchase....good looking foot pegs...:)...Merry Christmas to All....SB.

Pigger: Your wish is my command...I have posted 5 pics from all directions of the new style Triumph Dresser Bars...the pics are in the Photo Album for you review...Merry Christmas...SB....:D

Dang.....Somebody has my Handlebar wiring clamps on their bike.....looks nice.

Thinking out loud, I believe that Triumph is offering the flange covers (exhaust) and possibly the new tip-over bars as well as who knows what else in much the same way as they offer their windscreens. I believe Triumph may have contracted with Rivco on the flanges and the T.O. Bars much like they are already contracted with National Cycle for all their windscreens. If that's the case, you'll see a deletion in Rivco's parts lineup as Triumph will have entered into a non-competing contract.

Flip- if you compare the Rivco stuff to the new Triumph stuff it is different.

Honestly, I haven't looked closely. Other things have been occupying my time.....

Someone is making the stuff for Triumph. They aren't making the stuff. I know that National makes the windshields. Maybe Rivco altered the designs a little. The telling will be if, indeed Rivco drops certain acessories from the lineup in the future.
