Friend of mine is no more

Stayed home today. Really made me stop and think. Been there and done exactly what he had done. Riding way to fast giving the conditions. Only difference is my card is not dealt yet. Anytime any place the card can fall and that is all she wrote your done. A small price to pay for the satisfaction of riding. Something eventually is going to finish you off. Might as well just go out on a bike. Better than limping along with a terminal disease and going out suffering. Tough pill to swallow and i'll miss him very much but we had both talked a few times about cashing out and both agreed that check out time would be on the bike. Rode today. Went to the place that is holding the bike. Placed a open beer and drank one myself. Life goes on.:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:

To all that have posted. Thanks. Doing my best to deal with this but still having a hard time. Really a good guy a bit rough around the corners and rode all the time. Middle of Winter he was riding. His passion for bikes was very much the same as mine. We rode together a few years back to a Toy Run in Tulsa. Snow and ice for 75 miles. Got there only to find out the toy run was cancelled due to ice and snow. We both looked at each other and laughed. Rode over to the Salvation Army head quarters and dropped off the toys anyhow. They looked at us as if we were nuts. Then when we told them that we had rode 75 miles to get here only to find out that it had been cancelled they looked at us as if we had a screw loose. The friendship began from there.

I know it's hard to deal with, but when your number is up, it's up. It's something I have come to accept. He still lives in your memories and so remains alive as a part of you.
