Have 2005 Rocket III with K&N filters and Jardine exhaust can anyone tell me where they placed air sensor from air box if they removed their air box. Running into problems fouling plugs and i wonder if this is my issue. had powercomander on it and did same thing now i'm wondering if i have probem with my injection or if it's just the air sensor.

Hey Pig thanks for your response the k&n filters i'm using are a little different then the ones you are showing. I elimiinated the bear claw all together and just have the filters setting there but i did have my air sensor setting up on top of motor. One time I get 500 miles out of a set of plugs and this last time I got 17 don't figure only thing different i was at ocean at Wildwood,N.J. and normaly i'm inland about 100 miles. I would think motor would adjust for this. I have a proformance tune on my bike that the dealer installed after i took the PCIII out and I still get the same results. I am going to move the sensor as far as I can get it to the filters maybe this is my problem. My Jardine pipes are set up to install o2 sensor which I have connected so i don't think that should be giving me a problem. I'm new on this site so if i figure out how to post pics i'll put some on.

I am confused.. You had the PCIII but also had the O2 sensor installed? You also had the dealer load a "performance" tune? Which tune was loaded into the PCIII?

If you are not running the PCIII and only a triumph tune loaded by the dealer, you should be running dangerously lean.

Hope you don't mind, but I moved your reply in the triple filter mod thread back to this thread so it won't be as confusing.

Hey Pig I started out running a program with my PCIII which we designed ourself cause PC did not have a map for what I did as far as running the K&N that i'm running and the Jardine exhaust, went to sturgis with this and run about 1000 miles with no problem. When I got home I checked plugs and they were starting to foul out so I replaced plugs then got another 500 miles out off those. Got discussed hooked up factory computor took it to dealer were he loaded a a proformance tune in it got about 500 miles from these plugs changed them and only got 17 miles out of that set. I think you can see where i"m really getting discussed.

I was thinking about this and the custom PCIII map is kind of alarming. Especially if it was not done on a dyno or without a wideband O2. I wonder if you were simply too rich all along and it just took 1000 miles to get everything carboned up. Now that it is carboned up the plugs foul much easier.

Can you retrieve the map from the PCIII and email it to me? I have a PCIII tune that will get you close for your set up.

I would leary of running the bike with triple filters and jardines without a PCIII or tuneboy to correct fueling.

Where you have the air temp sensor placed would actually cause the bike to run lean. Hot air = less oxygen thus the ECU would add less fuel.

Hey Pig after fouling 2nd set of plugs I took bike to PC dealer and they dyno bike. Bike ran a few hundred miles and fouled again. After that thens when I went back to the factory computor figuring something went wrong with the PC. When I pull plugs out they are coal black and suitie every time. Seems like it's fouls at lower rpms 2 to 3 thousand. I appreciated everyones help I am just lost. After fouling plugs on factory and PC i'm thinking its something with my sensors or something. I know this is going to sound stupid but even with fouled plugs you get on it the thing goes like hell. Lately when plugs are going it doesn't want to idle down right away hangs around 1500 then idles down slowly to about 800. Checked throttle cabes and everything is free with no binds. Thanks again

o2 sensor is hooked up now with factory computor wasn't with PC. Pig I don't know how to download my PC to get the tune out of it thats on it now Had some one else do the work with the tuning.

Hey Toystoretom I seen on PC new PC III have O2 sensors now and when I called their tech support the tech said i didn't need one that I should just put the cap over open end and let it go. I bought mine in 06 and at that time sensors didn't come with it. If it be bad coils or ignition switch won't i get a miss in the engine and it don't miss. Not sure what a TPS is you have to explain that one. Like I said i'm old school and not real up on new motors but I try anyways.
