Well, I finally got it up and running, my wiring looks like a rats been through it but at least no one else's will!
It's pretty easy once you know which wires to connect to, which are:
DG8 colour ------------------R3T colour
Black----------------------------------any -ve
Red------------------------------------any +12v switched thru ignition
Green---------------------------------Black/White (pin A31 on ecu)
Orange--------------------------------Pink/Yellow (pin A34 on ecu)
Brown---------------------------------Blue/Purple (pin A01 on ecu)
***Different on the R3C - see post below by OzDave***
Here's a pic of the ECU, pin A1 is the top row, extreme bottom and it goes A2, A3, etc upwards
Once its connected and mounted you have to get it to learn the gears, quite easy, all in the instructions, easier if you have a lifter that will hold the bike at 4000 rpm! I used a freeway
The only hitch at the moment is it dithers a bit when you pull the clutch in but I reckon I need to get it to learn the gears on a nice quiet long straight road.
And before any one says "whataya need that for? you should know what gear you're in"...I like gadgets, get over it
Here's the mounted unit
