Farewell Rocketeers!

I love racing V-Rods .. i find it really hard not to do the ' raising the revs' thing if im next to one of them at the lights .

The V-Rod is a niche bike. Porsche designed the engine for Harley. That's why they have very few problems. It's a water cooled engine that makes it's HP & Torque in the higher rev ranges, as it has a short stroke.

Quite frankly they are not very popular with the Harley crowd. It's not a real air cooled cruiser like most Harleys and it's not a sport bike like a metric bike. Sales are just okay, but the bike never did what Harley expected it to do sales wise.

V-Rod is the red headed step child of harley.
They're in the "family" but NOT one of the real ones..
After the rocket, that must be a real let down
having to ride that and pop the seat every time he wants to fill up...
That'd suck to me..
Cheesy plastic fake gas tank an all.

Sometimes you have to settle for what you can actually ride within your skill level...the Rocket has been known to scare a lot of riders off.

Even when I had my Rocket (and just about any other bike I've owned...or made payments on I should say) I was very careful on it...didn't do a lot of the curves at high speed or anything. Going fast on a highway...or to Hooters in Nashville...was comfortable doing that...sometimes you just have to know your limitations...even if you may miss out on pushing the envelope on a bike of this nature.

I just like to enjoy the ride.

Hey guys! Just got a little tired of the lack of Triumph support, dealer network, etc. I did a little horse trading and got a V-Rod. Notice I didn't say Harley, Harley guys don't think it's a Harley anyway :) I didn't disappear, other than the fact I got on it yesterday morning and just now got home :D It's a blast to ride, handles great, pretty dang fast and will beat you to death after a few hours..

Good to see that you are still riding...and you did get the "fast" Harley...out of the box.

And if I remember correctly...you still have the 240 series rear tire.

Checking In

Hi Guys,

Just checking in and wishing everyone a safe riding season. After attempting to get my R3 fixed after the accident last May, I got a V-Rod, it was a fun bike, but the wife took one look at it and said no way, the back seat is about postage stamp size. So I sold it the other day and got a Kawasaki 1500 Drifter (My budget no longer in the R3 range):( Anyway, I did about 600 miles this past weekend going to the Blue Ridge Bikefest. As soon as you walked into the display area, the very first bike was a brand new flat black Roadster. Sigh. Oh well, love what you ride!
