Failed Key-Fob ended 7500km Trip short

Man, what a load of crap, what's wrong with a keyed ignition switch? Another reason I wouldn't buy one of these, nor the k1600gt I've been lusting after, just something else to go wrong. Like the move to digital controls and touchscreens on appliances, a huge hit to reliability.

In my experience, your statement is not accurate. I have taken and shared a video of how I start my bike using the standard (spare) key. I don't think it is as much trouble or as finicky as you suggest. I hope this shows how I successfully start my bike (and have done so for the past month or so) since my key-fob died.

Thanks for that. Will try it shortly.

I have no problem starting bike with manual key, no matter which direction I place the key. But no way can I start it with fob in red light off position. That key is a little taller than manual key but still no go. Will keep manual key under seat.

No, I don't have any saddlebags and I put the fob underneath, where you can feel 2 small marks in the rear splashback
