Lost fob key on high speed

Hello from Ukraine my dear friends,I’m writing with translation,dont kick me )) so what a problem

The smart key fell out of the vest pocket at a speed of 150 km/h. A key loss warning light appeared on the dashboard. I’m trying to understand how frequently the motorcycle checks for the presence of the key, in order to estimate the section of road where the key might have fallen (I have dashcam footage showing the exact moment the warning light turned on).

The only option offered by the dealer in our country is to replace the entire key system, which must be ordered and takes about two months to arrive, at a cost of €2700.

We really hope to find the lost key — it’s already the third day we’ve been scanning the roadside with a metal detector, and we’re running out of ideas.





I bought the Rocket 3 from a Korean auction, and it came with only one smart key. Here in our country, I was able to order a new key from the dealer, but it cost €700 — and it hasn’t arrived yet.

It might not be simple but it is cost effective. Also, at least you can ride for the 2 months it takes for your replacement to arrive.

Gidday mate. sorry to hear of your predicament. If you can not find the lost fob, then you're stuck, unfortunately. I can't see any way round it if you don't have either of the 2 spare keys & no fob. You'll have to wait for the new one to arrive in 2 week. As for how the frequency of looking for the key, I did an experiment, I started my bike & removed the fob to inside the house & also turned it off. The bike kept running & no warning light came on at all, however, when I turned the bike off it knew there was no fob & stayed shut down. I looked online & AI came back with the below, so going by that, where your light came on or just prior, appears to be the likely place.

Found another bit of info for you. Says the key range is about 1m away & it's out of range & 90 seconds will get the error light.
