Exhausted from my exhaust search

In my humble opinion mate, you'd be nuts to drill your Staintunes and I doubt it would do much anyway. They sound great the way they are and besides, you'd wreck them. Do you have a cat bypass fitted? That would make a bigger difference than drilling. If you have your heart set on drilling something get your hands on some stock pipes or TORs and mess with those. Just my 2 cents worth, mind. Best option would be to sell the Staintunes and put the money towards something that would give you the sound and performance you're after. If you want louder, Jardine might be the way to go (if you can get your hands on a set).

As for fuel consumption, I'm not sure what the direct impact would be but I do know that if you're anything like me you're going to want to hear the extra noise every chance you get so will be a lot heavier with the right hand = a lot more fuel used and probably rubber too. :D

Thanks Mate, yeah very sound and spot on. I may leave them for the moment.......Off to the big trip in a week so no time to mess with the bike. Cheers

Nice bit of craftmanship there R-III-R.
Any chance of putting up your dyno graph as it would be interesting to see the torque curve

sure. the weaker run was with baffles in. they quieten it very well, not too far above stock roadster in fact. i could dig out a vid and post if needs be.
just to clarify, the chart says bhp but that said 123bhp for the stock bike so its wheel hp

Why can't it be simple? Why can't I find an exhaust system that sounds mean, looks exquisite, and cheaper than dirt.. Is that really too much to ask ?!

Sounds like my life story.......why can't I find a woman that's not mean, looks exquisite and is cheaper than dirt.....I'm thinking you'll have better luck with the exhaust.

Not sure if these were ever posted before but I just came across this NZ site with some of the most interesting headers I've seen to date.
Any of you fellows ever try these out. Look awesome! :)

Seen them before and think the forward bends would eliminate all the burnt leg stuff. Wonder how they compare on the Dyno?
NZ shipping WAY too expensive.
