I kind of understand that. I had a BMW R1200GS and I did consider swapping the standard Exhaust for an Akropovich Carbon one. It wasn't quite loud enough but the performance was fine for me but when I looked up the price I thought, what the hell, the originals ain't so bad . I quite like the sound of the R3R. Distinctive and not trying to have the Harley burble. It is a sound of it's own. As for performance.... There's plenty there for me, and some!

Therefore if you want the bike to perform as the engineers designed the vehicle if there was no need for compromises, you MUST change the exhaust... and upgrade the intake to match the inhale to the new exhale. "spending money for spending sake" is like repainting a flat black bike so it looks satin black. Or striping paint off a perfectly good part and having it powder coated 'just in case' it gets chipped. There are a lot of things you can spend your money on that many people might think is a waste of money. But upgrading the exhaust on a bike built around performance with hooligan ancestry is not one of those things. I assume you came from a bike with less power than your rocket and value your hearing. So in that case, you must be fine with the current performance of your bike. Openroad and others would like to unlock their bike's potential, please don't judge them for their views. Why comment on this thread? Why did you even open this thread? If modifying your exhaust does not interest you, then go look at the other threads that talk about the joke of the day or political rhetoric. Now I'm making the confused face...

For what its worth, I hated the sound of the stock pipes on my touring, sounded too much like a car, I put the TORS on, and now the bike sounds "full", bur not so loud that its annoying. We each make adjustments to our bikes for our own preferences, I wish we had greater access to aftermarket items, I find the pickens slim.
