Everybody wants the "Goldilocks" exhaust system which is not too loud, not too quiet, but just right. Has anyone ever considered the Peacemaker exhaust?

For those not familiar, the Peacemaker exhaust is a slip on with a motor driven "flapper" inside. In one setting, the exhaust is forced through a baffle, which quiets the exhaust. You use this setting to get through a quiet zone. Then you press a handlebar mounted button and the exhaust is allowed to pass straight through the muffler, letting out the full sound. They don't make an application specifically for the rocket, but you could probably make it work.

Here is their website: http://www.peacemakersexhausts.com/index.html

Here is a link where some Hardley owners discuss it: http://www.v-twinforum.com/forums/v-twi ... stion.html

Any comments?

Unless you ran dual ECUs.

(some of us have talked about it before.)

Would you need dual ECUs or just a way to change map? I know several desiel pickup owners who have a controller with mutiple settings for economy, towing, power. It seems an addon module like the Power Commander could do this.

I think most people tune for the "open" position since they run 98% of the time in that position. They only run quiet to go through their neighborhood or when they see The Man. You would obviously run rich during the 2%, but would probably cause no harm.

I found one post where someone was pulled over by the police for excessively loud pipes. While pulling over, they hit the switch to close the flapper and run through the baffle. They then denied having loud pipes and blipped the throttle to prove it. The cop apologized for pulling them over and said he must have made a mistake!!
