Doug Nev tunes the whole bike ecu he is not someone who dumps a map in checks it on a dyno and calls it tuned. It is a matter of professionalism to him. This is why you hear nothing but high praises on his workmanship. Power commander makes gear to mess with ignition timing. I think they utilized the Muti port hub with the PCIII units. They are a square wheel compared to the PCV units. Nev of course can get plenty out of a square wheel :D

I have been duly impressed with Nev since time zero, which means, when he appeared on the first forum. Unfortunately I am here and he is there. Nev appears to be a dedicated performance tuner. I know of one in northern CA, I believe near Shasta, but not much else. There aren't that many R3's around these parts, much less people who can tune them with as much versatility as Nev.

My lastest used R3 came with Jardines and I put triple filters on it. None of the available TuneECU tunes was optimal in my opinion. So I got a PCIII and had my guy tune it. They report 151 hp, 162 ft lbs. They still have it for replacing the suspension, so we'll see how smooth is runs outside of WOT.

I just wanted to know if Nev tunes the L tables. From Power Tripp's tunes, it looks like he disabled them by setting the F-L switch to 3% TP. This makes tuning the fuel easier but eliminates whatever sensitivity manifold pressure buys you at low TP. Doesn't Carpenter use Tuneboy? Does he tune the L tables?

I cannot speak as to whether Bob messes with the L tables or not nor can I tell you whether once you intercept the signal from the ecu with a Power Commander device negates it or not. My bike was tuned by Bob but for another owner so I cannot say. I do not think Waynes was a braking dyno which would also make a difference on tuning.

Thanks for the info.

One cannot properly tune an EFI bike without a load control dyno. I do not just tune Rockets, but all sorts of bikes. I currently have over 20 different tuning softwares in my dyno computer, for all manner of bikes. I try to do my best.
