Hello fellow rocketeers, just want to send a warning to all of the newbies like myself :confused:about removing the secondary butterflies. The information given on this subject (secondary removal) is 100 percent accurate. It will take you an hour for twenty minutes of work if you keep the stock intake system, because it is that much of a pain in the ass to put back together correctly, take it from me:mad:. Learn from my mistake, you will get a check engine light if you leave the secondary position rod in the open position after removing the butterflies. Had to take it apart again to put it in the closed position with the ignition off and erase the code with my scannner before starting it again. After that I was all smiles again, didn't have to take it to the dealer thinking I messed something up:D.

He's a newby guys,
cut him some slack.
At least he had the good sence to follow our advice
and remove those restrictive little POS.
He'll learn all this stuff that we all take for granted now,
but look how long it took us to figure all this crap out
when we started doing our own Rocket maintance.

For my part,
Congrats on having the balls to do a mod, and trying to do it right.

Tor's, trips, Pro, PCIII and secondaries .... It's so simple to me now that I forget I was once nervous to ride it home the first time. LOL ;)

It's a 40 mile trip from work to home, on the ride home this AM I'm staying under 75 'cause I took the windshield off yesterday to wash the bike and just didn't feel like putting it on last night. This guy on a Hardley pulls up along side and looks over as he guns it and starts to pull away, I let him go a few car lengths and roll on it a little going by him at 125. Point made, I slow back down to 75 (because the wind sucks without a screen;)). He did this three more times and I really believe he thought he could win one , so on the 4th try I let him. Wasn't that nice of me? lol

I guess I forget that pulling the secondaries is a hard thing to do on faith when it's new.

That was sure a nice gester on your part Hellfire,
letting the little harley save face that way.
Me?
I was out at the bar the other night with a couple of my harley buds when this cat pulls up on a real nice xhdlvrpdq screaming whatever.
We had a couple and I told him what a nice little bike he had.
He said my honda was ugly.
Asked him if he wanted to run my "honda" for a $100.
My buddy said "don't do it man".
Really pissed me off,
made my buddy buy me a beer cause he cost me money
and could have had a free beer if he'd kept his mouth shut.
I was gonna let him win the first one then up it to the 5 bills I had in my pocket.
*******s.

Just who's wingmen were they anyway? Must be a Hardly code of honor thing. lol
I'd be really upset if someone called my Honda ugly! :p

If you had rode the bike for about 20miles the light would go away.
I didn"t find that to be true Scot. I took a sixty mile ride one way and the light never shut off. I took my scanner with me and erased the code when I got to my destination stayed a few hours and headed back home and the light came right back on within traveling 100 feet after starting. Thats when I decided to tear back into it and turn the secondary rod to the closed position.
