If you are installing the Triumph bars then you will have to remove the front engine mount. This is not difficult IF you support the engine with a jack so that there is no weight from either the engine or frame on the long bolt. .
My 2C... put a bit of loctite on the nut afterwards..... it might feel tight, but I once found the bolt falling out at a fuel stop during a ride....:eek3:X a zillion
There's not any threaded end of the engine bolt protruding from the nut, when you install the Rivco's. I emailed Rivco and they gave me a name of one of their lead engineers, to have a conversation about it (source for a longer bolt). I haven't gotten around to it yet (need to though....)
Yeah , had a slide a couple of years ago, the Triumph bars folded up like plastecine; however, they then acted like a sled, & saved damage to the side of the bike.
Ridden a rocket with Rivco bars, & I swear they felt like they were bracing the frount end ( good thing). They are very solid & link together to make a rigid brace.
